Head Strength & Conditioning Coach Susquehanna University
Joe received his Masters Degree in Exercise Science from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and served on
the National Strength & Conditioning Association’s (NSCA) Education Committee. He is recognized as a leader in sports
performance by the NSCA for his contributions to the profession and was nominated twice for the NSCA’s strength coach
of the year award (‘98 & ‘01). Joe previously served as a grad assistant strength and conditioning coach at
UMASS Amherst, West Virginia University and Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach at Villanova University. Following
Villanova, Joe took over as the Head Strength & Conditioning Coach at Drexel University in Philadelphia, PA. He
spent four years directing all aspects of the strength and conditioning program where a record number of his athletes achieved
NCAA honors. He has 23 years experience training athletes from middle school through the Olympic & professional ranks.
He is the former strength & conditioning consultant to the Philadelphia 76ers, , St. Joe’s University basketball,
NHL's Blackhawks, Blue Jackets and NJ Devils. Some of the most notable athletes Joe has trained include: Steve Slaton
(Houston Texans, Miami Dolphins), Andrew Franks (Miami Dolphins) Ryan Howard (Phillies), Allen Iverson (76ers), boxing champion
Bernard Hopkins and Brian Westbrook (Philadelphia Eagles). Joe has served the needs of athletes of the Phildelphia
and PA and NJ suburbs for over ten years. Local high schools include: Multi State Football Champions Archbishop Wood
High School, Central Bucks East, Central Bucks West, William Tennant, Conwell-Egan, Holy Ghost Prep, Football State Champion
Neshaminy High School, Pennsbury, Bensalem, Villa Joe Marie, and many more. Joe now resides Selinsgrove , PA and serves
as the Head Strength & Conditioning Coach for 23 teams at Susquehanna University .
